New Website Promotes Marine Tourism in British Columbia

Jul.07/07 - Making a Splash on the Coast of B.C.

The launch of a new Marine Tourism web site, http://www.bcmarineadventures.com heralds the beginning of a new era in marketing marine tourism businesses located on the coast of British Columbia.

Maxx Communications, a Victoria based tourism marketing agency, announced today that it has taken a major step forward in promoting Marine Tourism in British Columbia.

Unlike many other tourism web sites, http://www.bcmarineadventures.com provides a specific focus on the Marine Tourism Industry in B.C. and unifies the many marine-related businesses that cater to visitors from close to home and around the world.

The initiative stems from the Vancouver Island Marine Tourism Alliance, which was started over a year ago by Maxx Communications and several other prominent Vancouver Island Marine Tourism operators in an effort to unite the Marine Tourism industry into a strong, unified marketing organization.

Maxx Communications President, Wayne Nowak said “The web site offers the Marine Tourism Industry a profile of its own. It is very selective in its target marketing, knowing that Marine Tourism is a major consideration for people planning to visit the west coast of British Columbia.”

Businesses in the Marine Tourism Industry in coastal British Columbia all receive a free listing on the web site, with an option to advertise and to increase their exposure in other ways. Marine-related businesses are encouraged to participate in the web site in an effort to make it the largest, and most comprehensive site of it’s kind anywhere in the world.

Additional links are constantly being reviewed for inclusion on the site, which will soon include a Fishing Report, a Coastal Weather and Tides Report and links to the Coast Guard and Fisheries & Oceans Canada web sites. Other features coming soon include Marine Hiking/Walking Trails, Coastal Driving Tours and a Photo Gallery where members of the public can upload their favorite pictures of the B.C. coast.
